Thomas Mack
"They gave me their time, labor, and love." (2007)

Thomas Mack moved to St. Bernard Parish five years before Hurricane Katrina. Forced to evacuate to Houston, Tx., for three months, Mack returned home "to stay," moving into a FEMA trailer on his front lawn.

In May 2007, nearly two years after the storm, Mack was finally able to begin rebuilding his home with the help of volunteers.
